About me

My name is Sarah Colbourne,

Therapy also called psychotherapy or counselling, is the process of meeting with a therapist to resolve problematic behaviours, beliefs, feelings, relationship issues, or somatic responses (sensations in the body). Beginning therapy can be a big step toward being the healthiest version of yourself and living the best life possible—no matter what challenges you may be facing. Through therapy, you can change self-destructive behaviours and habits, resolve painful feelings, improve your relationships, and more.

The first thing to do is contact me with your contact details and a brief description or any questions you may have regarding therapy. I will then get back in touch to arrange a session without obligation.

After the session, if we decide to work together, we can proceed with further sessions. This will involve a detailed assessment, which will give us an opportunity to explore how we might work together in a way that is relevant to your therapeutic needs. This could mean either short or long-term counselling.

What We Can Explore:

  • Anxiety Counselling
  • Bereavement Counselling
  • Depression
  • Debt Counselling
  • Eating Disorders
  • Emotional Problem Counselling
  • Generational Trauma
  • Identity Concerns
  • Pre-menopause/Menopause
  • Racialised Trauma
  • Relationships

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and completed my training at The Minster Centre where I am currently completing an MA/Advanced Graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy with the Minter Centre, accredited by Middlesex University.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
