About me

Starting therapy can be a really important step in your life. Therapy offers you a safe and confidential space to explore your emotions and feelings without fear of judgement. Therapy can help you to make sense of your past, support you in the present and build the future that you deserve.

The starting point for all my client work is to honour your knowledge and understanding of the world. Together, we will build a relationship that helps to make sense of your inner world and move towards a place of personal growth and lasting therapeutic change. Along the way, we may draw on different psychological models, such as Transactional Analysis and Internal Family Systems, but the overall focus of my approach is Humanistic psychotherapy. I will offer you a safe space to explore whatever you need to, at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I recognise you as the expert of your own experience. The therapeutic relationship that we build together, and the emotional safety this provides, is at the centre of our work. I approach therapy through a decolonial lens and work hard to deconstruct my own privilege. I am committed to providing an inclusive psychotherapy practice that is informed by my values and actively welcomes clients from all backgrounds.

I offer both short and long term therapy, recognising the uniqueness of each individuals therapeutic goals. This is something we can decide – and review – as we work together.

I hold the following professional membership, which has ethical guidelines and principles that I adhere to in my practice:

  • British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)

If you would like to book a free 15 minute video call to assess if we can work together, please email me with a sentence or two about what you brings you to counselling and your availability for sessions, and I will aim to get back to you within 24 hours.

I work with adults and children 14+.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
