About me

It can feel daunting to contact a counsellor but we all face times in life where we could benefit from seeing a therapist to process difficult emotions, experiences and make sense of challenging circumstances.

I create a calm and accepting environment where you feel heard and understood and work through the issues you are facing. We will work collaboratively, and you decide on the content and the pace of the sessions.

I will help you explore your circumstances, how these might be linked to your past and experiences and help you to find a way forward. I also love to help clients develop self-compassion and understanding of the things going on in their lives

I have worked with many different issues and have a particular interest in supporting recovery from abusive relationships (including narcissistic abuse) pregnancy loss & relationship problems. I am also open to explore your spiritual journey and how this relates to the challenges in your life.

I offer a warm and supportive therapeutic relationship and I would love to help you explore and work through whatever challenges you may be facing in your life.

I believe that in the right environment, there is always hope and potential for change and flourishing.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified person-centred integrative Counsellor with an Advanced Diploma in Counselling from Network training and counselling, and I abide by the NCPS code of ethics.

I've worked as a counsellor working with adults and young people at Network and Heart to Heart Counselling alongside my private practice which is based in both Stoke Gifford and Filton.

My recent CPD training has been in Pregnancy loss, recovery from trauma and abuse, the mind/body connection, dealing with narcissistic and emotional abuse and working with suicidal clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

ACC
Association for Christian Counsellors (ACC)

The Association of Christian Counsellors and Linked Professions is a professional body representing and setting standards for Christian counselling and care in the UK. The organisation is made up of various different membership categories, including Counsellor and Accredited, and requires all members working as counsellors to undertake Continuous Professional Development on a regular basis.
