About me
I am a qualified counsellor helping to guide clients challenge negative thinking whilst offering a confidential space to talk about their issues.
My consulting room is in the centre of Kingsbridge, however, I can also work remotely (online or by phone).
We often assume that by asking for help, we are admitting to weakness. This, however, couldn’t be further from the truth. In asking for help, you are really showing great strength and hunger for life, and you deserve to be supported in that.
My aim is to provide a safe, non-judgemental, empathic and confidential environment, in which you may talk about whatever you want, explore your experiences, discuss your problems and difficulties, decide what you would like to change or consider how to cope with what you cannot change.
My approach is an 'integrated' model of counselling, based on Person Centred Therapy, including Gestalt and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. It is suitable for both short-term goal-focussed counselling, and longer-term more exploratory therapy. Commonly, people who contact me are experiencing feelings of anxiety or depression, or struggling with trauma and PTSD issues. My approach is well suited to working with people to help change these problems and stop repeating unhelpful patterns in life. I also work with people who are simply dissatisfied or uneasy with their lives and want things to be different.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
