About me
Tired of feeling invisible—like no one sees or understands you?
Life can feel like an uphill battle—especially when it seems like relationships, success, or self-confidence come easily to others but not to you. If you’re tired of feeling ignored, frustrated, or like you don’t fit in, therapy can help.
I’m Sam, a qualified counsellor based in Newton Abbot and registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Since 2017 I've delivered therapeutic interventions in the NHS and both local and national charities.
I’ve worked with people who feel isolated, anxious, or trapped in negative thought patterns—helping them build confidence, navigate relationships, and take control of their lives.
How I Can Help
Maybe you’ve been rejected so many times that it feels pointless to try. Maybe social anxiety or self-doubt holds you back. Maybe you feel like the world is against you. If this sounds familiar, you’re not broken—you just haven’t been given the right support yet.
I regularly work with:
- Anxiety & Overthinking – When your mind won’t switch off, and you second-guess everything.
- Low Confidence & Self-Esteem – When self-doubt keeps you from putting yourself out there.
- Social Struggles & Loneliness – When connections feel out of reach or exhausting to maintain.
- Frustration & Resentment – When rejection and isolation lead to anger or hopelessness.
- Depression & Motivation Issues – When you feel stuck in a cycle that’s hard to break.
You don’t need to have all the answers before reaching out—just knowing something needs to change is enough.
What Therapy With Me Feels Like
I know that talking to someone about this stuff might feel awkward, or even pointless. But therapy isn’t about judgment or empty positivity. It’s about understanding what’s holding you back and finding real, practical ways to move forward.
My approach is:
- Straightforward & Down-to-Earth – No jargon, no pressure. Just real conversations.
- A Safe Space – You can be honest without fear of being shamed or dismissed.
- Action-Oriented – We won’t just talk about problems; we’ll work on real solutions.
- No “Just Be More Confident” Advice – You’ve heard that before. This is different.
Many of my clients start feeling lighter and more in control within just a few sessions.
Why I Do This Work
I know how hard it can be to feel like an outsider—watching other people succeed in life while you’re stuck on the sidelines. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in mental health support and saw how much isolation and rejection can wear someone down.
That’s why I don’t offer quick-fix advice. Instead, I help you untangle what’s holding you back, break unhelpful cycles, and build a life that actually feels good to live.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
