About me

Welcome

I am a humanistic and integrative psychotherapist and counsellor working within the Peterborough area. I offer both Face to Face and online sessions.

Life can be difficult and navigating its challenges can be hard. Perhaps you're feeling overwhelmed, worried about the future, events from the past are looming heavily in your mind, work is really tough, relationships are difficult or it is increasingly hard to get out of bed in the morning. Every person comes to therapy with a variety of issues and differing sets of circumstances. In our sessions, we can work together in a safe and confidential space to unpick whatever is going on for you.

I believe that you are the expert on your own life, even if right now you do not feel that way. I can offer a warm, friendly and compassionate space where hopefully you can begin to trust me to share your thoughts and feelings.  As a humanistic and Integrative therapist, I work to support you to find meaning in your relationships and experiences and help to promote growth and well-being.

I have supported clients with a range of presenting issues including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, emotional abuse, physical abuse, and trauma. During the last few years, I have deepened my understanding of working with clients that have experienced loss and bereavement through my work with Cruse Bereavement Care.

I can offer both short and long-term therapy, face-to-face or online to suit client needs. For new clients, I offer a 15-minute free telephone conversation where we can discuss if therapy is right for you.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), I work within an ethical framework for professional practice. I undertake a high level of continuing professional development (CPD) to ensure I offer best practice, by regularly updating my knowledge and understanding.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
