About me
Beginning therapy can feel daunting, especially when you’re already carrying so much. My role is to offer a calm, compassionate space where you feel heard, understood, and supported from the very first conversation.
I am a qualified Person‑Centred Counsellor and Integrative Therapist, as well as a Social Worker with over 20 years’ experience working with children, adults, and families. My background has given me deep insight into trauma, attachment, loss, grief, bereavement, neurodiversity, domestic abuse, and the complexities of family and relationship dynamics.
I have worked extensively in adoption services, supporting adoptive families and individuals who have been adopted. I have also collaborated closely with CAMHS, psychologists, and multi‑agency teams, which has strengthened my understanding of how emotional well-being is shaped by life experiences, relationships, and the systems around us.
Alongside my private practice, I work as an affiliate counsellor for a Domestic Abuse charity and provide EAP therapy. These roles allow me to support people through some of the most challenging and vulnerable moments of their lives.
My approach is warm, empathic, and person‑centred. I believe that therapy works best when you feel safe enough to be yourself, to explore your story, and to move at your own pace. I understand how much courage it takes to reach out and place your trust in someone new. My aim is to walk alongside you with care, respect, and genuine connection as you navigate your healing journey
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a trained and registered Counsellor and hold a BA (Hons) Degree in Social Work. With over 20 years of professional experience, I bring a depth of understanding and a calm, grounded presence to the people I support.
My counselling work includes supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse, trauma, and significant loss. Through my EAP role, I also work with clients navigating work‑related stress alongside personal challenges such as bereavement, relationship difficulties, family issues, anxiety, low mood, and other mental health concerns.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent two decades as a Social Worker, working closely with individuals and families facing trauma, addiction, mental health issues, bereavement, anxiety, and major life transitions. This experience has given me a strong foundation in understanding how life events, relationships, and emotional well-being are deeply connected.
My combined background in counselling and social work allows me to offer a compassionate, informed, and holistic approach. I draw on a range of therapeutic skills to support each person as an individual, helping them feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward.
