About me

This is me, Rosemary Turner, thank you for taking the time to read.

I am a fully trained and experienced Psychotherapist, Counsellor, and Clinical Supervisor based in London with comfortable rooms in various locations. I am also able to offer on line and telephone sessions.

All sessions are strictly confidential. My life experience and study has enabled me to work with difference and diversity.

I am committed to continuous learning to enable me to be even more helpful to my clients.

Counselling - the talking therapies, can help people come to terms with the problems they are facing with the ultimate aim to overcome them.

My therapeutic approach is Integrative, which means I draw on different theoretical approaches (e.g. Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, amongst others). I am client lead and will work at a pace to suit you, should you decide to go forward with me, helping us to build a relationship based on respect, trust and empathy.

Talking therapy is helpful around issues. It can support reflection and increased awareness on our usual coping mechanisms and explore alternative ways of dealing with and establishing psychotherapeutic alliances with people experiencing a range of mental health issues and concerns, some of which are listed below;

  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Bereavement
  • Low self-esteem
  • Addiction
  • Menopause
  • Sexuality and gender
  • Relationships
  • Screen addiction
  • Anger
  • Co-dependency
  • Intimacy and attachment issues
  • Relational trauma, created through family dynamics
  • Personal development
  • General life issues.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked and trained with:

WDP - helping those who are affected by substance misuse.

One In Four - supporting people who have experienced child sexual abuse and trauma.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

I can offer short-term counselling (12 sessions) and open-ended Psychotherapy.
Sessions are 50 minutes long and normally held at the same time and place each week.

I also offer online and telephone sessions.

So that we can determine if I am the right therapist for you we will need an initial 50 minute assessment session, giving you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have and this will help us to explore whether we would like to work together.

A variety of payment plans and packages are available. For further information please feel free to Contact Me.

Where availability allows I can offer some sliding scale and student rates. Thank you for looking at my profile.
