About me

Hello and a very warm welcome. My name is Rachel and I am a CBT therapist. As you find yourself here, you may be feeling stuck in life at the moment and perhaps issues or difficulties may be causing you to feel distress or to feel overwhelmed. Perhaps you feel anxious, depressed or have low self-esteem? Often we can get caught up in these difficult cycles and start having unhelpful thoughts and feelings.

The good news is I can help you get "unstuck" and help you achieve lasting change in your life. I will help you move towards your goals and lead a more fulfilled life. I am here to support you every step of the way, giving you the space and time to discover yourself and build confidence to cope with life's challenges now and into the future.

I offer a caring, encouraging and non-judgemental space for you to share your thoughts and feelings, empowering you to find a way forward. By looking at how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours all connect we can develop a deeper understanding of what's going on for you. From this I can help you develop coping strategies that will help you in the present and also in to the future.

I am here to gently help you make sense of the difficulties in your life by giving you understanding, empathy and support. Finding the right therapist that you genuinely connect with is important, therefore I warmly invite you to contact me for a free informal chat to see how we could work together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
