About me

I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor working with the gestalt approach. I am particularly interested in the embodied and relational aspects of gestalt, supporting clients to get in touch with their emotions and sensations and to expand their range of possibilities. I also bring in techniques from Somatic Experiencing (Peter Levine) which can be very helpful for trauma work, building resilience and resetting the nervous system.

I am a creative therapist and enjoy venturing into the unknown with my clients. I believe that people are their own best experts and I see my role as supporting clients to discover themselves rather than pushing them towards some predefined notion of health or success.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at Metanoia and Manchester Gestalt Centre and have a psychotherapeutic counsellor qualification.

I have also done training in somatic techniques at the Institute of Embodied Psychotherapy.

I volunteered for 2 years at Brent Bereavement Services and 2 years at Talking Counselling in London.

I have a BA in Philosophy and an MA in Creative Writing.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
