About me

I work online via Zoom.

I will not keep you waiting. I alway respond to your enquiries quickly - normally within an hour or two. Always within 24hours.

I am a Person Centred Counsellor, so our sessions will not be about me or my personal opinions, they will be about what is best to help you. My aim is to provide the right conditions for you to feel able to discuss anything you want, safely and without being judged. However, I am not simply a passive listener, I will at times be more active in our sessions, bringing suggestions or experiences into the room if I feel they could benefit you.

A good relationship between client and therapist is an essential aspect of effective therapy, so I offer a low cost initial 50 minute session (just £20) with no obligation, so that you can decide whether I am the right counsellor for you.

Perhaps you find it hard to cope with difficult feelings such as Anxiety, Depression, Anger, Loss or Work Stress. It could be you have suffered a Bereavement, have Relationship Issues or you're feeling a loss of Self-Belief, Low Self-Esteem or are just feeling sad

If you have a problem with Alcohol, Drugs, Gambling or any obsession/addiction, my personal experience of addiction and my subsequent recovery gives me a deep understanding of addictive behaviour, its underlying causes and all of the issues that surround it.

You may have suffered trauma or past abuse. Perhaps you feel that you are not 'good enough' or you have an underlying sense of 'impending doom' that wont go away... It could be that you just seem to have a constant feeling that something isn't quite right.

You can meet with me online via Zoom, from anywhere you feel safe and I will listen to you with empathy and without judgement. Together we can explore your worries, thoughts and emotions freely.

Drawing on my extensive training, work and personal experience, I can help you with any difficult issues. We can explore any obstacles, choices and aspirations - whether they are current problems of a practical nature or repetitive cycles from your past - that affect your daily life.

Together we would work towards strengthening your inner resources and confidence, enabling you to see a more positive way ahead.

Whatever it is that you are finding difficult to cope with in your life, I can help you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
