About me

Welcome and thank you for viewing my profile.  I am an Integrative Cousellor and Psychotherapist.  My ethos as an Integrative Counsellor is to find the best fit for your needs and problems.  I do this by incorporating various styles of therapy from Person Centred Therapy, Existential Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic therapy.

I'm here to Help

I am keen to explore who your are and what problems you bring to me, and will work with you to find the best possible outcome. I will provide you with a safe non-judgemental space to navigate the difficulties you are encountering and will work with you at your own pace depending on your needs. I believe that therapy is a way to firstly overcome difficulties and navigate past or present events, but to also to grow into a better version of who we are and who we want to become.

I work with Anxiety, Depression, Child Abuse, Stress, working related stress, Bereavement and Relationships (Individual). I have twenty years of experience helping people through conflict management,  and all forms of abuse. I will help you navigate the traumatic issues you have faced or facing and give you the tools for you to move on with your life.  I provide a safe and warm place for you to do this.

The Benefits of Therapy

I strongly believe in the benefit of getting people talking, particularly to demystify the stigma attached to therapy. I believe therapy can provide the door to a better understanding of who we are from the past to the here and now and it’s just whether you choose to open it. Confronting conflict and probelms take courage and trust in the person you are talking to.  I'm here to build that trust and to walk you through anxiety, difficult emotions, negative thoughts, and patterns of behaviour that hold you back from having a full and functional life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
