About me

I’m an empathic and approachable therapist offering face-to-face appointments in Hackney. I welcome you into a warm, respectful, supportive and non-judgmental space where we can carefully reflect on all parts of yourself – even those that might be scared, vulnerable or angry. My approach is integrative, meaning I draw on various theoretical models to work with each client in a way that is tailored to your individual needs, whatever they may be.

Modern life can become too much and we can get thrown off course. Depression and anxiety can take hold of our emotional state and interfere with everyday tasks. Losing a job or relationship, unmet grief or questions about our sense of self can have an enormous impact on our wellbeing. Whatever has led you to look for a therapist, my hope is that therapy will enable you to move forward in life with an unfolding sense of awareness, and a deepening self-reflection that enriches your relationships with yourself and with others.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’m a fully qualified practitioner and MBACP member. I hold a BACP-accredited foundation certificate and a postgraduate diploma in Integrative Counselling/Psychotherapy from the Minster Centre, London, and I’ve also trained and practised in a bereavement-specific setting.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

After making contact by phone or email, we'll arrange a time for an initial consultation session, during which we'll explore what brings you to therapy and I'll take a brief background history. There's no obligation to continue working together after this initial session but if you do wish to continue, ongoing sessions are 50 minutes long and are held at the same time each week. Before we start working together I'll send you a copy of my client-therapist agreement, which lays out information about confidentiality, holidays and cancellations.

If you'd like a free initial telephone introductory session (about 15 minutes), give me a call or email me to arrange a time.
