About me

A warm welcome. If you feel you need someone to talk to, and are feeling overwhelmed or struggling with anxiety, depression, or any other issues, you do not need to suffer alone.

I'm Nicky Sinclair a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. My approach is supportive and compassionate, helping you on your journey of self-discovery, growth and change in a safe and accepting environment. We will work together collaboratively, in a trusting, and non judgemental way, looking at your thoughts, emotions and behaviours, and how they are impacting your daily life.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a solution focused approach.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence based therapy used for a wide range of mental health conditions including; anxiety, fear, depression, perfectionism, low mood, grief and bereavement, phobias, stress, self-esteem, anger issues, and trauma related difficulties. The aim is helping you to live a richer fuller life.

Getting help can often be the hardest part, especially when you are talking about sensitive information for the first time. If you decide to get in touch, your call will be received in a warm, welcoming, and sensitive manner.

I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation.

In order to start and establish a trusting relationship, I offer an empathetic and understanding environment for you to feel safe in and to decide collaboratively if the therapy I offer is the right one for you. We can arrange the first appointment at a mutually convenient day and time.

In your first session, we will simply be getting to know each other. We will work to establish a trusting relationship enabling you to talk openly to me in a non judgmental, calm and safe environment. Explore what your aims are and discuss collaboratively how we can work together to meet them.

So if you would like to speak to me in confidence, please contact me via email or phone. I'm afraid I do not accept inquiries on behalf of others.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
