About me

Hello my name is Nic,

Can I support you to improve your relationships, reduce anxiety and stress? I offer counselling for individuals and couples to explore unhelpful feelings, thoughts and behaviour so you can improve your relationships, mental health and well-being.

As a BACP qualified and accredited integrative counsellor, we can work short and longer-term to suit your needs.

I offer:

A counselling relationship where you can safely explore and negotiate your past, present and future. Counselling can help you to make sense and meaning of your experiences, develop insight and new ways to adjust and move forward.

My Experience:

Through working with counselling agencies in the West Midlands and Warwickshire, I am experienced in counselling a wide range of concerns including:

Relationship and family issues, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, work-related stress, abuse, trauma, bereavement and loss. This includes bereavement counselling for parents who have experienced miscarriage, neonatal and infant loss.

I specialise ...

In working with clients who want to improve their relationships with themselves and others, reduce anxiety and stress, manage unhelpful feelings and thoughts. Through a therapeutic relationship we all have the potential to increase self-awareness and create change in our lives.

How do I work?

The person-centred approach, is the foundation of how I work and I integrate a variety of CBT and Psychodynamic interventions based on evidence-based research of what works in therapy.

Would you like to make contact?

If you choose to contact me, I offer an initial joint consultation session. I will listen carefully to the concerns you bring. Together we can explore if and how we can work together, enabling you to make decisions about how you want to live your life and deal with life problems in your own way.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am Registered Accredited Member of the BACP, and committed to practice within the BACP Ethical Framework for Counselling Professionals.

As an Integrative counsellor the person-centred approach, is the foundation of how I work and I integrate a variety of CBT, Psychodynamic and Mindfulness interventions based on your needs and evidence-based research of what works in therapy.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
