About me

Hi, my name is Nicola, and I can support you to achieve a happier and more fulfilling life by understanding your struggles and helping you move out of them.

I am an integrative counsellor, meaning I can draw on whichever therapeutic technique I think would be best suited to your needs. I am also a coach, and can blend coaching with counselling in a fully holistic approach: supporting you to reflect on the past and present, as well as your hopes and goals for the future and how to achieve them.

I offer online counselling so that you can attend sessions from the comfort of your own home and at a time that suits you, such as during working hours. I provide a warm and confidential therapeutic space where you can feel heard and never judged, where a smile will always meet you, and where you can bring whatever is on your mind.

I am particularly passionate about counselling clients who are struggling in the workplace. After several years working in business, I understand how the impact of stress in the workplace can manifest itself across all parts of life. I can support you in dealing with that stress, or help you work through any underlying issues, such as anxiety or depression, that are impacting you in the workplace.

I also offer specific counselling support to university students. I have worked with many young adults who have found life away from home difficult or are struggling under the pressures of academic life. It can feel hard to manage on your own, but you don't have to.

Clients say they appreciate my warm, compassionate and insightful approach. Sign up for a free 30-minute session where you can to tell me about you and hear how I can help.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, with a Professional Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling from the Mary Ward Centre, London. I also hold an Advanced Coaching Diploma from Wise Goose Coaching, London. I have a Masters in Spanish and Italian from Oxford University.

As well as working as an integrative counsellor and coach in private practice, I worked for two years as a counsellor for the Cambridge charity Cogwheel Counselling and as a student counsellor at King's College, Cambridge.

Before becoming a counsellor, I was a Director-level manager for several blue-chip organisations, as well as an Associate Lecturer for a London university.

I also work under my maiden name Nicola Copping.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
