About me

Hi, I'm Natalie

I'm trained as a person-centred counsellor who is passionate about supporting individuals to explore their thoughts and emotions with the difficulties they are experiencing. My role in your counselling journey is to walk alongside you and your experiences to encourage you to make a positive change, enable self-awareness, and for you to feel able to face challenges in your life.

You might be experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, bereavement, and relationship breakdowns, or you might be struggling to pinpoint exactly why you're feeling the way you are. Life can be overwhelming at times, and I'm here to help you unravel your thoughts to help you see and think more clearly.

I will listen, accept and respect you, offering a safe space to open up which is free of judgement. I will help you to make your own decisions based on what is right for you. I respect that personal experiences are very unique to each individual and I understand that it takes courage to openly talk about what you are experiencing.

A little bit about me

As well as my private work, I also work for an organisation, working with a variety of individuals from different backgrounds. I mainly work with domestic abuse victims, and clients experiencing family breakdowns, anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, low- confidence and thoughts of self-harm and suicide.

I am also a counselling coordinator for student counsellors, mentoring and guiding them through their training with clients.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • I hold a Diploma in Person Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy.
  • I am currently studying a level 6 supervision course.
  • I have worked alongside the crisis team in Cheshire West, supporting clients with a range of different crises unique to them.
  • I also have experience working with children and young people, undertaking an introduction to counselling children and young people workshop.
  • I hold a level 5 in leadership for children's care, learning and development (advanced practice). Level 3 diploma in health and social care for children and young people.
  • I am continuously learning and undertaking CPD to enhance my knowledge and practice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
