About me

My journey towards the field of counselling and psychotherapy has been driven by a deep-seated desire to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals facing emotional and psychological challenges.

I have a deep passion for supporting individuals on their journey to mental and emotional well-being. With years of experience in the field, I specialise in anxiety, depression, relationships, trauma recovery and stress. I am here to guide you toward a brighter future.

I believe that each person's journey is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling. My therapeutic approach is grounded in empathy, active listening, and collaboration.

My sessions offer a safe and confidential space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings and concerns.

Taking the first step towards counselling can be both empowering and transformative. If you're ready to embark on this journey of self-discovery and growth, please don't hesitate to reach out. I offer a free initial consultation where we can discuss your goals and determine how I can best assist you.

Remember, you're not alone on this journey. Together, we can unlock your potential and create positive change in your life.

Contact me today to schedule your consultation, and let's take the first step towards a brighter future.

I provide online sessions via Zoom and Teams, on the phone directly on my mobile number or WhatsApp and face-to-face sessions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have completed my Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. This has been a very rewarding for me, as I have found that helping others is something that I enjoy, something that I persevere to do.

I have been a Volunteer Counsellor at the Trafford Carers Centre.

I have gained work experience from working with young adults to seniors in our community. I find this job extremely rewarding, working with a variety of different ages, culture and religion.

As my counselling has involved working with different individuals - providing brief sessions where needed. I have consolidated my training during this time.

I also have worked with CDI as a volunteer position. To ensure that my clients feel comfortable and understood, I communicated with them in different languages such as Urdu and Punjabi.

My clients have included individuals who have previously had experiences of counselling and for some of those the adaption of an alternative approach used within their sessions has helped them to explore different thoughts, feelings and meanings to their underlying issues.

For others, this was the first experience of counselling and usually entering with preconceived negative connotations to therapy - for these individuals I was able to support them in firstly feeling safe and comfortable and being able to express their feeling to aid them in accessing counselling which was meaningful and supportive to their needs.

It helped them to also recover from periods of anxiety, depression and supported them in not only their mental health recovery but also their improvement in physical health.

I have trained with NSPCC as a Childline Counsellor and been in the counselling room, where I spent a few supervised hours taking calls or been online. This training and brief experience gave me a taste of how to deal with clients over the phone rather than face to face (although I had a brief experience with children).

I later trained with Place 2be as a volunteer Counsellor in a school. I worked with children in a school environment for a year.

I am currently working part time with Salford Royal as staff counsellor. I do feel that my life skills as well as skills from my current counselling work enables me to engage with people in a very positive and empathetic manner. I am a very good listener as well as being able to adapt my communication style to suit different situations.

I have experience helping people from a variety of backgrounds who have gone through distress-inducing personal challenges, such as anxiety, stress in workplace, depression, relationship issues etc.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
