Person-Centred Therapist MBACP

About me

Hello, I'm Michelle. I am a qualified Person Centred Counsellor which means I work with my clients in the here and now.

It's so important to find the right counsellor for your needs, and to make sure that you would feel comfortable working with me. Therefore, I offer a free initial discussion (no obligation) to see if you’re happy with how I work and if I'm the right fit for you.

You can bring whatever you wish to discuss to each session.

I believe that everyone holds the ability within them to become the person they wish to be. We hold the answers within and our experiences are unique. I will always be honest and non-judgmental.

My experience includes working in areas of common life, anxiety, family issues, relationship problems and more. I also have many years of experience working within bereavement and loss - loss can be anything from losing a job, home, relationship to part of yourself.

Getting started.

By building a positive relationship and offering a safe space to talk freely, I will look at your own experiences through your eyes, allowing the space and time needed to make a positive change in your own life. For many people, this is a chance to truly be open and honest about what you want to do with your future, to enable a positive outcome in your life.

So, if you are looking for someone to listen to you and you feel ready to experience counselling (even if only to find out what counselling is about), please call or get in touch - it's the first step of your journey.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

I have experience working within schools from children to staff aged 8-18. I understand how schools are run for staff and what is expected of you, and I understand what is involved for parents and children that have special educational needs.
