About me

I work with millennials who's low self esteem prevents them from fully participating in their life and keeps them trapped in a cycle of depression and disconnection.

Do you always struggle with feeling as though you are not enough? Stuck & trapped, feeling lost & overwhelmed? Maybe you struggle to understand who you are and believe that you cannot trust yourself or make decisions. Maybe you spend a lot of time inside your own head criticising every thing about yourself and berating yourself for being behind in life. You easily get sucked in to comparison with others, those all around you seem to be succeeding in life and you feel as though you're trapped, unable to move forwards and deeply unhappy because of it.

Maybe you try to change who you are to fit in with the crowd? But that doesn't work either and leaves you feeling even more miserable and insecure. You know that you’re feeling unhappy but you don't know what to do about it, opening up and speaking to someone feels terrifying and you doubt whether it would even make a difference. You want some answers, you want to understand yourself better, to feel lighter & be able to move forwards, but the hardest thing is knowing where to begin... it all feels so overwhelming and confusing.

I get it. I'm a millennial myself and I have been on my own healing journey of learning to feel enough as I am and to accept myself fully. For a long time, I myself had very low self esteem that impacted my life in many ways and it took a long time to unravel and understand this. Now, I am passionate about helping other millennials to do the same. I understand the pressures of the world we grew up in and the expectations of the world we operate in now and I want to help you thrive regardless.

We may be a good fit if you experience:

  • feeling emotionally overwhelmed
  • feeling reactive and confused by the intensity of your feelings
  • obsessive comparison with others & high social media use
  • a loud critical inner voice
  • holding yourself to extremely high standards
  • putting pressure on yourself to be perfect
  • putting the needs of others first and not considering yourself
  • lack of boundaries with others or work, leading to exhaustion & burnout
  • feeling isolated, lacking true connection and feeling misunderstood

What's therapy with me like?

In our sessions we will work together to help you understand your beliefs about yourself and to untangle the thoughts and feelings that contribute to your experience. Through understanding what you have been through and developing compassion for yourself we can begin to change how you feel about yourself, begin to heal & accept who you are and to nurture your self worth.

In a session with me you are allowed to be completely yourself and express to me whatever is on your mind. I will help you to explore your emotions and have an opportunity to look at things from a different perspective and not feel alone. I will be authentic with you and allow myself to be human, I hope that this will help you to be yourself with me also and through this learn self-acceptance.

I believe that we all hold our own truth and answers within and that we all deserve the space and support needed to understand ourselves better and to overcome our insecurities. I believe that by sharing our stories with others we allow ourselves to take ownership of the narrative and through this we can change our whole experience and move forwards with our lives.

I run an online & remote practice working with clients all over the UK, working via webcam and via email.

Who do I work with?

I am particularly passionate about helping millennials and young people with the struggles that they face, using my experience as a millennial to inform my understanding.

I offer one-on-one therapy via Zoom so that you can access therapy from the comfort of your own home, wherever you are in the world (excluding USA & Canada due to licensing laws).

Email me to book a free 15-20 minute consultation via Zoom so that you can see if I am right therapist for you & for you to ask me any questions you may have.

My Approach

The way I work is integrative, which means I blend many psychological theories together in a unique way for each client. My core approach is the person centred model but I integrate aspects of humanistic, existential, psychodynamic and narrative therapy as and when they are needed in the process.

If this sounds confusing then don't worry! You don't need to understand how all these approaches work together (that's my job) but please feel free to ask me questions about how I work if you would like more information.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
