About me
Welcome to Cedar Lodge Counselling. I’m Megan, a First Class Honours qualified integrative counsellor offering counselling for adults, young people and couples in Lichfield and the surrounding areas.
I understand that taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, trauma, loss, low self-esteem or simply feeling overwhelmed, you don’t have to face it alone. My role is to provide a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly, feel genuinely heard, and begin to make sense of whatever is happening in your life.
As an integrative counsellor, I recognise that no two people are the same. Rather than following a single approach, I tailor therapy to your individual needs, drawing on a range of evidence-based therapeutic models to support meaningful and lasting change. At the heart of my work is the belief that a strong therapeutic relationship provides the foundation for healing, growth and self-understanding.
I offer counselling in a calm, private setting surrounded by peaceful countryside, as well as online, telephone and live text therapy, giving you the flexibility to access support in the way that feels most comfortable for you. Whether you’re seeking short-term support for a current difficulty or longer-term therapy to explore deeper patterns, we’ll work together at a pace that feels right for you.
Choosing the right counsellor is an important decision, which is why I offer a free 15-minute consultation. This gives us the opportunity to talk about what you’re looking for and helps you decide whether I’m the right person to support you.
Your journey matters, you matter
Training, qualifications & experience
As an integrative counsellor, I have qualifications and a professional background. I hold a first-class honours BSc in Psychotherapy and Counselling, which I completed over 6 years of university study. My training provided a strong foundation in psychological theory, human development, counselling ethics, and evidence-informed therapeutic practice. As an integrative counsellor, I draw upon approaches including person-centred therapy, transactional analysis, Gestalt therapy, CBT-informed approaches, mindfulness, and creative techniques, allowing therapy to be tailored to each client’s needs. I am committed to maintaining the highest professional standards through regular continuing professional development and ongoing clinical supervision.
I have experience working with children and young people, couples, and clients from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
