About me
My approach
I adopt an integrative approach in my practice, including humanistic, trauma-informed, and somatic approaches.
The humanistic approach emphasizes the value and personal worth of an individual. It is my passion to bring out the best in an individual despite difficulties and pain.
However, traumas (especially adverse childhood trauma) affect not only our mental health but also affects our self-image, self-identity, day-to-day functioning, and interpersonal relationships.
My qualifications
I graduated with a B.A. in Economics and Statistics in Canada before I worked in a Bank in London, U.K. After working for a years, I started a position in a University in Hong Kong where I found my passion in working with people. I then went on to equip myself by studying a Master of Christian Studies (Counselling) as a Master of Psychology. These two programmes helped to understand even more about human behaviour as well as ways to deal with emotional issues.
As I went deeper into the field, I found trauma has played an enormous role in our well-being. Thus I studied Somatic Experiencing. Now I am a qualified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. I have also completed Bodynamic Foundation Training. These somatic approaches help not only to alleviate my clients' pain, but they also seek for growth despite traumas, even in cases when we cannot describe in words.
How I work with my clients
I will look into the issues that are pressing my clients, as well as the possible solutions of the issues. The environment that we were brought up in might not be the most favorable one, or there were incidents which shocked our nervous system. And the impacts of them are deeply imprinted in our minds and bodies, making us feel helpless, angry, fear, shameful or even hopeless. Therefore, I aimed to help my clients to gradually learn new knowledge about themselves and others in the process through our minds, emotions and the body. HENCE, THEY WILL BE ABLE TO OWN AND LIVE ACCORDING TO THE VALUES AND THE ETHICS WITHIN THEM, AND YET BE ABLE TO INTERACT WITH OTHERS DESPITE DIFFERENCES.
Training, qualifications & experience
I graduated with a Master of Christina Studies (Counselling) as well as a Master of Psychology more than 10 years ago. I have been working as a counsellor/psychotherapist since then. I worked with all age groups since the beginning of my career. Now I am more passionate in working with adults, from young adults to mid-aged.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Normal fee is £90 per 60 minutes. Concessionary rates (£60 per 60 minutes) are available for students and trainee counsellors.

I will see my clients online on weekdays (Mon, Tue & Thu), and in my office in London on Saturdays.

I will have a free initial telephone conversation (around 20 minutes) with those who approach me and those who want to know more about the therapy. I will also get a brief knowledge of the background and goals of those who called.
