About me

"The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are" (Carl Jung)

Hello, I'm Mark.

Life can feel tough at times and feelings can begin to overwhelm us. Perhaps you find yourself here because you are feeling anxious, or angry, or sad, and can't quite put your finger on why.  Perhaps you find building and maintaining relationships hard or are in a particularly challenging stage of your life.

I offer a calm, holding and empathic space in which you can build awareness and understanding of the feelings and emotions that hold you back and prevent you living the life you would like.  I aim to create an environment in which you can explore the here-and-now challenges of life and reflect on them in the context of your full life experience in order to begin the process of positive change.

I recognise that coming to therapy, particularly for the first time, can be a daunting experience and provide a safe, compassionate and confidential space for you to explore the difficult moments and challenges you are experiencing.

To begin our work I suggest an initial 15-min phone or online session to meet and talk a little about what brings you to therapy and what you might be looking for. This is a free, no-obligation conversation and will allow us to decide if we would like to work together and to talk through the therapy process and next steps.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Diploma in Counselling from The Minster Centre and am currently studying for my MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Registration Number: 401872).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
