About me

Anxiety, depression and low self esteem are the most common emotions people are trying to deal with today. My approach is to help you explore these and the underlying issues that perhaps present themselves as these three common emotions.

Hi, I'm Lucinda, a BACP registered Psychodynamic therapist offering face to face sessions in St Albans and online sessions nationally to over 18's.

Having the space and time to focus on what's going on for you may sound indulgent but what's more important than getting to know your true self?

Psychodynamic therapy gives you the opportunity to explore your inner world, your thoughts and feelings, past and present.  Sometimes life can be challenging - you may feel anxious or stressed and wonder why?  Talking things through can help you process these feelings.

I have experience in a wide range of areas including:

  • Anxiety
  • Relationship issues
  • Grief and sadness
  • Life stages and changes
  • Low self esteem and confidence
  • Depression
  • Identity
  • Stress

Working together, we'll start to make sense of what is going on for you and gradually find meaning, thereby enabling you to have a more sincere and genuine relationship with yourself and others!

I am interested in you, your story and being alongside you on this journey to making your life more fulfilling and meaningful.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Registered Member of the BACP and I work to their Standards for Good Practice and to their Code of Ethics.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling (BACP accredited course)
  • Professional liability insured.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
