About me

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where a loved one, a family member, a friend or work colleague asks you “How are you feeling”? you respond “I am feeling fine”, however in reality you are feeling tense, anxious, overwhelmed unable to relax, have a sense of dread or fearing for the worst but you don’t want to burden anyone with whatever may be troubling you so you go through life pretending everything is fine.

You don’t have to suffer in silence, I know that seeking therapy can be a scary step to take and may seem a little daunting.

This is where I can help, working together we can look at ways to help you feel at ease, to think more clearly and rationally, and look at situations in new less frightening ways.

I know from experience finding a counsellor that you feel comfortable with is extremely important, which is why I offer a free initial 20-minute session to give us the opportunity to begin to get to know each other, to get a better idea of the way I work and to answer any questions you may have.

My aim is to provide you with a safe confidential, non-judgemental space to talk freely about your innermost thoughts and feelings without fear of rejection to focus on what is happening for you right now and work collaboratively with you to navigate through the difficult times to accept who you are and reconnect with yourself.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Registered member of the BACP (MBACP)
  • BACP Certificate of Proficiency
  • Online and Telephone Certified Counsellor
  • Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, CPCAB
  • Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies CPCAB
  • Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills CPCAB
  • Mental Health First Aid

Currently, I am working for a mental health charity providing counselling to organisations, NHS and to those in the local community.

Previously I have worked as both a volunteer and qualified counsellor counselling young people and adults at Thurrock & Brentwood Mind for five years.

A big part of my work at Thurrock & Brentwood Mind was working within their Multi-Ethnic Counselling Service,  with the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic community working through a whole range of presenting issues such as bereavement, relationship difficulties,  anxiety and low self-esteem.

Despite living in the 21st century, it is still common for members of this community to face difficulties in their everyday lives simply because of who they are.

As a person from a Multi-Ethnic background, I feel a lot more connected with the people and issues they are facing. I want to be a pillar of support for those who need it within our community through the medium of therapy providing the best possible service to those who are in need and come to me.

I attend regular clinical supervision to support my work and invest in my continued professional and personal development to enhance my knowledge and further develop my skills by conducting research, attending seminars and courses.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
