About me

I am a qualified therapist with a degree in Person-Centred Counselling offering confidential and open-ended sessions. I chose Counselling as a career because I know anyone can feel grief, loss, sad or frightened at some point in their life. You may be feeling overwhelmed by recent or past events, or worried by your own behaviour. Perhaps you are feeling unsure about your relationships with other people.

It can feel lonely and hopeless to face difficult experiences without someone to truly confide in, yet it can be especially hard to talk about feelings and thoughts with the people we are closest to. Our relationships with other people can be wonderful and supportive, but they can also be complicated and unhappy.

Perhaps you simply need some time and space to work out how best to manage things and find a way forward, so that you feel better in yourself. But who can you safely talk to when you feel distressed and how can you find someone reliable, professional and experienced? This is where I may be able to help.

Through years of research in this field, I have gained great faith in the Counselling relationship. I provide a safe haven for you to explore your concerns in a confidential environment. I will do my best to help you manage your emotions and behaviour, and support you in gaining a better understanding of yourself, and your relationships. My role is to facilitate your decision-making process in a judgement-free, compassionate way. My main aim is to help you find a way forward in your life that is consistent with your values and aspirations.

Training, qualifications & experience

I specialise in young people, adults and Bereavement Counselling. I am also a member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and provide each client with an opportunity to explore and express themselves confidentually, with a skilled and supportive listener.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
