About me

Seeking therapy means that you're making a choice to help yourself, and this is not always easy. You might be feeling helpless, or even hopeless. You may feel overwhelmed, at breaking point. But please know that you recognising this is the first step to things being different for you.

I am a qualified Therapeutic Counsellor with a background in Special Needs Education that has helped develop my non-judgemental approach to a diverse range of individuals. I have a passion for learning about each client's unique experience and perspective to better understand their emotional and mental frame of mind through empathy and acceptance. I aim to create a safe space in which the client can explore their past and present to gain a greater sense of self-awareness to consider things they might not have considered before. This self-awareness serves as a way to develop coping strategies for similar situations in future, allowing the person to build emotional resilience.

My Person Centred approach means that my clients are at the centre of the therapeutic process and I facilitate their journey of making sense of their experiences and emotions bringing them closer to achieving whatever goals they have for themselves.

I offer counselling on a short- or long term basis and welcome clients from the age of 16 to adult of all backgrounds. I have experience working with a range of issues, namely:

  • emotional wellbeing and neurodivergence
  • gender and sexuality
  • depression
  • anxiety
  • body-focused repetitive behaviour
  • self harm
  • stress/burnout
  • OCD
  • trauma
  • abuse
  • addiction
  • bereavement
  • narcissism
  • divorce/relationship breakdown

Training, qualifications & experience

  • B Ed Psych
  • Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
