About me

I am an autistic counsellor supporting autistic adults with navigating life.

Do you think you might be autistic or have already had a confirmed diagnosis? Are you now wondering what autism means to you? Perhaps your feelings escape you. It's a challenge to distinguish, name and manage them. People seem to misunderstand you often. Have you been an outsider for as long as you can remember? Never quite fitting in?

Maybe it's time to make peace with your differences. Realising that things could be better is the first step towards positive change. If you are ready to move on from autistic and struggling to brilliantly autistic, you are in the right place.

I help you to:

  • discover your genuine self
  • manage emotions
  • negotiate fulfilling relationships
  • thrive at work

My approach to therapy is centred on encouraging the clients to regain a sense of control. As we gradually rediscover own resourcefulness, creativity and autonomy, a great deal of negative symptoms subsides.

Previous clients said they had found the sessions beneficial and walked away with renewed hope. Reach out! I would be delighted to support you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) with enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate and professional insurance.

Core training:

  • Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills

Additional training:

  • Neurodiversity in the consulting room
  • Safeguarding

I have clinical experience in a broad range of presenting issues including relationship difficulties, social anxiety, lack of self-confidence and persistent low mood. I engage in continuous professional development focused on the subject of autism.

If your background is in business or academia, we may have a few things in common. My non-counselling career has been in analytical and commercial roles in both public and private sectors and I hold several higher education qualifications. I understand the stresses of a busy professional life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
