About me

Hello and welcome to my page.  Sometimes our problems can seem overwhelming and out of control. We may experience unhelpful thinking and act in ways that may be out of character. The hardest part can be reaching out and asking for help. The good news is counselling can benefit so many. I know from personal experience that talking therapy can have positive long lasting effects.

I will work with you to establish goals and help you gain awareness of your thoughts, emotions and needs. Using the CBT framework we will look at how your thoughts, emotions and behaviour are all interlinked. Together we will use various tools and techniques that will help you feel better now and in the future.

The most important part of counselling is the relationship with the therapist. I offer a warm, compassionate space for you to really open up. I ensure my clients are heard, understood and valued. Before making the commitment to therapy I invite you to a free consultation so you can make sure I am right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • SCOTACS Diploma in Counselling and Group work, a CBT approach.
  • HNC in Counselling.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
