About me

What's Next Counselling is a flexible online therapy service, meaning I can offer appointments by way of telephone or video call regardless of your location in the UK. One of the biggest benefits to online therapy is that you can have the support you need from an environment you are comfortable in at a time that suits you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have over 1,100 hours experience in providing therapy to clients aged 11 and above. I provide short term (6-12 sessions) and long term therapy to clients, depending on their needs and circumstances.

I was trained in Person Centred Therapy as well as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. But what does this mean for you as a client?

It means that as a therapist, I am focused on you and your experience of yourself and acknowledge and embrace that you are the expert in your own life.

It also means that I can help you look at those negative thoughts you might be having and help you to see if there is another way of viewing the situations that might be contributing to your struggles.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

When you enquire about starting therapy, the first step will be a free 30 minute consultation, conducted by either telephone or video call. This will give us both an opportunity to see if we feel comfortable working together and for you to ask any questions you might have about me or the therapeutic process.

If you decide to commence therapy, I will then email you a client information form to complete and my counselling contract. It is important for you to read the counselling contract before electronically signing it, to ensure you are comfortable with its content and to give you the opportunity to ask any questions about it.

Once the client information form and counselling contract have been returned, we will agree on the day and time for your therapy session.

I ask for payment prior to the session. Once payment has been received, I will email the video link to you or if you are accessing therapy by way of telephone call, I will contact you at the agreed time.
