About me

Whether you're navigating a personal crisis, coping with the aftermath of trauma, or seeking deeper meaning and connection in your life, therapy can offer a supportive space to explore these challenges. You might be dealing with relationship difficulties, career transitions, or feelings of burnout and self-doubt. Together, we can work towards understanding these experiences and fostering personal growth.

Perhaps you have now reached a point where you are looking for greater stability and clarity in your life and your relationships. I am interested in everything about you that sheds light on your problems and how you might cope better. My job is to bring your awareness to all of who you are so you can start living spontaneously through creativity rather than habit.

My experience as a film-maker has honed my ability to listen deeply and understand the complexities of human narratives. In therapy, this translates to a keen sensitivity to your personal story, helping us to uncover patterns and themes that may be influencing your current experiences

Finding the right therapist is a crucial step in your healing journey. I offer a complimentary initial consultation to discuss your needs and see if we're a good fit. Feel free to reach out to schedule a time to talk.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Gestalt therapist with an MA and a Psychotherapy Practitioner Diploma in Gestalt Therapy and a Certificate in Relationship and Couples Counselling. I am also a registered EMDR therapist and a Brainworking Recursive Therapy practitioner, BWRT (reg.)

I split my practice between working one-to-one with individuals and doing relationship therapy with romantic partners (spanning the Gender, Sexuality and Relationship diversity (GSRD) spectrum), as well as with siblings/family members, friends, and co-founders/work colleagues. I also co- facilitate personal development groups and work with organisations to support meaningful cultural change.

My approach is humanistic and integrative, and my style is embodied, relational and creative. Alongside Gestalt, I also draw from disciplines like Neuroscience, Internal Family Systems, Somatic and Sensorimotor therapies to meet and support the different situations my clients present. I understand the significance of the mind-body connection in healing and how important the therapeutic relationship is  for nourishing the safety necessary for this to happen.

I am especially focussed on using embodiment and creative methods in a whole systems approach to therapy; issues of culture and difference; and the role of therapy in the service of social justice and equality. I am trauma-informed, attachment-focused, and deeply committed to antiracist, anti-oppressive practice.

I specialise in working with people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

With a wealth of experience leading artistic types working in creative teams in the media, I excel at empowering individuals to overcome creative blocks and reignite inspiration. By creatively and collaboratively, drawing on art, play, fantasy, creative writing, and storytelling, I foster an environment where innovation flourishes, while facilitating self-discovery and therapeutic change. Additional information

Individual therapy usually takes place once a week for 50-minutes and it can be either:

·      Brief (6 to 12 sessions) – more structured and focused on solving the identified problem or situation.

·      Long-term– open-ended work that may last for a few months and sometimes even a few years.

·      Deep dive (90-minutes) – extended one-off sessions aimed at getting to the core of your situation and addressing the barriers to your healing and happiness. These sessions are often very useful for gaining clarity and determining the next steps in your journey.

My fee is a sliding scale from £80- £95 for 50-minute sessions and £120-150 for 90-minutes deep dive sessions.

For EMDR I run 90-minute sessions from £120-150.

For couples I offer a sliding scale of £120 -150 per pairing/polycule for 75-minute sessions.

25% of my practice is sliding scale/low cost for people who genuinely can't afford the full fee. These spaces are generally full, with a waiting list of a few months, but you are welcome to enquire.

** Monthly Creative Group **

I have a 3-hour personal development group for cultivating and nourishing creativity. This is held in East London  on Saturday afternoons from 2-5pm. Please feel free to enquire for further details.

Further information

I specialise in working with individuals who have experienced trauma—whether relational, developmental, transgenerational, or systemic. This includes childhood sexual abuse (CSA), racial abuse, domestic abuse, gaslighting, narcissistic abuse, emotional neglect, and bullying. I work with both the visible impact of trauma and the subtle, often inherited imprints it leaves on identity, nervous system regulation, and self-worth.

You may identify as a survivor or as a highly sensitive person navigating flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, panic, chronic pain, or low mood. You may carry a diagnosis such as bipolar disorder, BPD/EUPD, GAD, OCD, or c-PTSD. My approach supports you to untangle what’s been internalised and find new ways of relating—to yourself, to others, and to life.

Gestalt therapy holds that we are not broken, but adaptive. I help clients explore which patterns are no longer serving them, drawing on embodied awareness, dialogue, creativity, and the therapeutic relationship. Together, we work in the present while exploring how the past lives in the now—through thoughts, emotions, sensations, images and metaphors.

I also offer support for those exploring or integrating experiences with plant medicines, though I do not offer psychedelic therapy myself.

Alongside individual therapy, I run personal development groups, including:

  • A monthly creative therapy group (ongoing)
  • A new 10-week couples group (launching soon), supporting deeper connection, communication and relational insight.

I also offer relationship therapy for all types of partnerships—romantic, familial, professional or platonic—grounded in an inclusive, intersectional approach.

Whether creativity is your calling or something you’re longing to reclaim, I offer a space to reconnect with imagination, expression, and play.

Please get in touch if you’re curious to explore working together.

Client Testimonial

I’ve been with Kelly for several years working on my childhood sex abuse, depression and complex ptsd. She has been incredibly patient, even when I have resisted her support. She regularly checks in to see how the pace of our sessions are going and gently pushes and challenges me forward. Kelly has been the most attentive therapist I have ever had. She’s compassionate and genuinely wants to help people live a happier fuller life away from trauma. I’m extremely grateful to have her guiding me through the darkness of my past and present. Thank you for all you have done.  KL, Bradford-upon-avon.
