About me

Life is full of ups and downs. When we find ourselves in the most challenging times in our lives, getting external guidance and support can be hugely beneficial in helping us navigate the difficult journey and support our healing.

Welcome to my Therapy.

Therapy is your chance to talk about everything you are feeling and thinking without any judgement. Having a space that is safe and dedicated to you can be hugely powerful in helping you better understand yourself, your thoughts, feelings, emotions, conscious and unconscious behaviours.

I offer a warm, empathic space for you to be seen and heard as your whole self. Perhaps you're feeling stuck, are suffering with anxiety, depression, low self esteem, feel overwhelmed, lost, unhappy, are struggling with your relationships, a bereavement, family issues, or are suffering with current or historical trauma. Maybe you can't even name what is that's going on but just know you’re not feeling the way you want to in your life.

Working together we'll gently unpick and explore the thoughts, feelings, past and present issues that may be troubling you helping you gain a better awareness and understanding of yourself. It’s through a deeper awareness and connection to ourselves that we build a stronger emotional resilience and can live a more authentic life. Counselling can help you let go of old patterns and habits and forge new healthy relationships with others and yourself.

I truly believe every person has the capacity for change and growth, just sometimes you need a little help with figuring out where to start. Collaboratively we will help you find the answers you need so you can feel more in control of your feelings and your life.

My Approach

I am an integrative therapist which means I draw upon and blend various modalities together including, Psychodynamic, CBT, Person Centred and also Mindfulness. I am also a qualified Life Coach, so where appropriate I sometimes incorporate different coaching techniques and exercises within my practice.

There is no one size fits all. Each client is unique and has their own story as to why they have come to therapy, so an important part of our work together is building trust within the therapeutic relationship and working in a personalised way that is right for you.

I believe that we can all benefit from having support from others during our lives. We are social beings and therefore need human connection. Walking alongside you during your healing journey is both a passion and a privilege so I look forward to hearing from you to discuss how I can support you.

Starting therapy can feel scary and daunting especially you have never had it before. Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
