About me

Hello and welcome to my profile.

I’m an Integrative Counsellor and Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I provide a safe and confidential space for clients to open up and my caring, compassionate nature means that together, we can explore the issues and struggles you are facing.

It may be that you don’t have a specific issue but that you’re feeling lost and want to talk things through with someone impartial and non-judgmental, to better understand your thoughts and feelings.

As an Integrative counsellor I offer an approach tailored to your needs, using different aspects from my training to help you understand your feelings, gain greater awareness and perspective and to support you to bring about some of the changes you want in your life.

I work with couples and individuals aged 16 and above.

Training, qualifications & experience

BA (Hons) Psychology, CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

Certificate in Couples Counselling

I'm an Accredited member of the BACP which means I work according to their code of ethical and professional conduct. As part of this I receive regular clinical supervision. I also attend workshops and training as part of my continuing professional development to inform my practice.

I have worked for one of the UK’s leading mental health charities. During that time and within my private practice, I have experience of supporting clients with a wide range of issues including anxiety and panic attacks, depression, childhood abuse, work related stress, post-natal depression, bereavement and loss, loneliness, life stage changes, identity crisis and gender dysphoria.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
