About me

I am an experienced therapist and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and also a member of the Association of Christian Counsellors and abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling. My practice is called Renew Me Therapy.

I am warm with a friendly relaxed manner and approach my work in a flexible, sensitive, non-judgmental and relational way. I have a genuine interest in people and will draw alongside you to work through your presenting issues.

What is Renew Me all about?

Well at some point in our lives, we will experience challenges; life can be hard and cause us to feel really exhausted and quite frankly mentally and emotionally spent.

Renew means to restore, make new; to begin again. Sometimes you just need a safe space to think, to reflect, to explore your thoughts and feelings, or to address experiences that have depleted you of energy, a sense of self, and of being your authentic self.  Sometimes you just need a safe space to release the pause button on truly living and who you are.

Renew Me is a place to release yourself from the weight of the burdens you have carried and embrace the freedom to grow.

How I work

My approach is based on humanistic principles, my modality is person-centred which aims to provide you with a safe space to talk through difficulties in a welcoming and supportive environment, and to find your own ways of addressing issues. I am not the expert, you are the best expert on you, and together we can dive as deep as you are able to go, in order to move forward.

You would have thought carefully about coming to therapy and whatever has bought you to that decision now, I hope to offer you a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings.

I offer a free no obligation 30-minute consultation, either face to face or via telephone or Zoom, where I can gather some basic information from you and where you can have the space to ask questions and see how it might feel for us to work together.

If you decide that you would like to work with me please give me a call or contact me via email; I would love to hear from you.

Ongoing sessions are 50 minutes, and we would usually meet at the same time each week. Counseling can be short-term, where we define a set number of sessions to explore a particular issue, or on an ongoing basis where we work to an end when it feels appropriate to do so.

I have worked with a range of issues which include abuse, feeling sad, general anxiety, anxiety disorder, bereavement, child-related issues, depression, loss, OCD, personal development, pregnancy-related issues, low self-esteem, self-harm, low confidence and domestic abuse.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Association of Christian Counsellors and Linked Professions is a professional body representing and setting standards for Christian counselling and care in the UK.
