About me

Hello, I'm Jo. I am a warm, non-judgemental and compassionate experienced counsellor, providing an inclusive, safe space where you can feel at ease. I help people manage their anxiety in social situations, whether this be around relationship issues, work related stress, or bereavement.

Dealing with life's crises can feel overwhelming. Working together we will have the opportunity to explore any emotions, feelings or concerns that you may have or which may arise. I believe that the quality of the relationship that we build together, will become a key part of your therapy.

Maybe you feel stuck and unable to move forward in your thoughts or behaviours. I can support you in unpicking life's difficulties and helping you to face your challenges. Even if you are not entirely clear about what led you into counselling, we will work together to unravel what you want from therapy and find a way forward.

As a Humanistic and Integrative Counsellor, I am able to use different therapeutic approaches to suit each client, rather than following a ‘one size fits all' approach, which enables me to work flexibly and inclusively. This helps to create a warm, supportive environment in which clients can feel safe. They are then able to work through difficulties that they are experiencing, and are better placed to face up to the challenges in their lives. I offer both short-term and long-term therapy.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
