About me

Hi, I'm Jessica. I am an Integrative therapist providing a comprehensive and tailored approach to therapy using a range of techniques and principles to meet your unique needs.

Sometimes life can begin to feel challenging and painful, impacting your inner and outer world. This could be instigated by past traumas, current distressing circumstances or a long-standing mental health condition. Maybe you cannot identify exactly what feels out of place but know that you would like support to explore these emotions and work towards a place of healing. The prospect of entering into therapy can feel like an overwhelming decision, especially in choosing what will best suit your needs. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is of the utmost importance, enabling trust and respect, ultimately resulting in lasting change and a healthy, happy life.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Masters in counselling and psychotherapy based on person-centred, psychodynamic and gestalt approaches. By integrating these different types of therapy, I provide a comprehensive and flexible framework to address the complexity of each person's experience, promoting empowerment, healing, growth, and transformation.

My approach is trauma-informed, which means that I seek to understand the impact of trauma on an individual's life and aim to communicate safety in a physical, psychological, and emotional way. Having the environment to process trauma without re-traumatising can help to reconstruct and heal the fractured pieces of your psychological well-being. The goal is to empower you to re-establish control and peace in your life.

I can help you address a wide range of psychological, emotional and behavioural issues, providing emotional support in a safe and supportive environment that can help you to express thoughts, emotions and feelings without judgment. A safe space can help you process traumatic experiences, unresolved childhood issues, or emotional wounds from your past which have often been left untouched. This can leave behind a huge amount of pain that then manifests into trauma-related issues, such as addiction or self-harming. I understand how difficult this can be to manage and offer evidence-based techniques specific to your needs to help alleviate symptoms and promote your recovery.

Empowerment is an essential aspect of the therapeutic process. This can encourage the development of self-awareness, enhance your strengths, build confidence, and help you to take active control of your life. Experiencing healing is a transformative process that will support you in overcoming your emotional pain, trauma, and psychological challenges.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

It's really important to find the right therapist for you, who will make you feel truly understood and held through your times of difficulty. Considering this, I offer a free 30-minute consultation.

The therapy sessions are yours to choose which direction to go in. There are no rigid borders or "shoulds". Some like to work creatively, others may have an interest in certain therapeutic techniques to explore their pain, or some might have not discovered how they would like the sessions to go yet. There is no right way and we can begin to discuss this in the first session where you can share as much or as little of your story as you wish. There is no rush, no pressure, and we have lots of time to talk things through. We will take it at your own pace and get to know the ways in which you can be helped.
