About me
I am a qualified Person centred counsellor, which means I’ll be able to provide a safe space for you to reflect on anything you might want to bring to our sessions. Everything will be done at your pace and in your best interest.
I will be a companion to facilitate that exploration in a helpful way through the counselling skills that I learnt. It will be a very open and non-judgmental relationship, where I will do my best to try to understand what it is like to be you and take a look at any issues you might be facing.
Then, as the weeks go by, you likely be able to experience a change in your emotional well-being and self awareness thus feeling more empowered to reconnect with your authentic self in a meaningful way.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have an BACP accredited Advanced Diploma in Counselling. My experience range from a variety of issues, namely:
Anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, disability.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
Looking for a counsellor can be a very overwhelming process at times and I understand the importance of finding someone that makes you feel comfortable and that you just 'click' with. So, with that in mind, my first sessions will be a bit different than the others. In it, I will explain in more detail what to expect and you will get the chance to tell me a bit about yourself and what brought you to counselling. There is no obligation to commit on the first session and I would encourage you to meet with other counsellors first if you feel like it's the right thing to do before you carry on. It is really about you in the end.
My 1st sessions are half priced (£22.50) and last for 30 minutes (usually, they can be extended if necessary at no extra cost).
Further information
The sessions will be of 50 minutes and no time limit on how many sessions. We will be assessing our therapeutic relationship regularly so you have the chance to reflect on how therapy is helping or not.
