About me

Registered Psychotherapist working online and face to face.

If you are trying to cope with Anxiety or Depression, confronting past traumas or managing overwhelming emotions. I offer a safe and supportive space to explore these experiences and embark on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth.

Experience has also taught me that you journey is unique, and so are your struggles. I like to take a pro active approach to our work by asking questions, promoting and evoking responses and making interpretations where appropriate. The ultimate goal is your personal growth and well-being and I remain committed to helping you achieve lasting positive change in your life in an effective way.

Please feel free to look at my website for more information on my practice or book in an initial telephone consultation to further my practice.

Training, qualifications & experience

I did my undergraduate degree in Psychology and went on to complete my Masters in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy earning distinction.

My specialty is in Psychodynamic psychotherapy, a well researched and long-standing form of talking therapy. Psychodynamic psychotherapy explores the influence of unconscious thoughts and past experiences on present behaviour. Rooted in psychoanalysis, it prioritises the therapeutic relationship to uncover hidden patterns and emotions. This approach promotes self-awareness, better relationships, and personal growth by addressing deep-seated issues.

I have lots of experience working with adults and young adults on a range of presenting issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship challenges and addiction.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
