About me

I am an experienced Integrative Psychotherapist and my counselling approach is warm, compassionate and genuinely caring about the people I work with. Sometimes we all need to feel heard and know that someone is on our side.

If you are:

  • suffering for a loss in your life - bereavement, breakup, infertility, pregnancy loss, financial instability, chronic illness
  • feeling overwhelmed and concerned about your present or helpless on how to make things better
  • struggling with anxiety, stress, maybe burnt out

I can help you with all these feelings and more. We can work together through the emotional and psychological difficulties, exploring patterns and how these can be changed, so you can live your present with joy and love for yourself and the people you care about most.

Areas that I specialise in
I am qualified and practice within a multitude of counselling areas. Below, a few reasons why people asked to work with me and the areas where I have accumulated additional experience:

  • Coping with negative feelings and thoughts
  • Life transitions and losses
  • Bereavement and Grief
  • Fertility issues, pregnancy loss and abortion
  • Relationship challenges and break-ups
  • Low self-esteem, shame and guilt
  • Difficulty in relating to others
  • Anger management
  • Anxiety, stress, intrusive thoughts, panic attacks
  • Depression
  • Illnesses and death anxiety

The types of therapy that I do

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist which means that I draw upon evidence based psychological approaches and methods, to tailor the best therapy around a person's needs and expectations.

For example, sometimes I use elements of Cognitive Behavioural approach (CBT) to challenge negative thoughts and adjust behaviours that are detrimental in the day-to-day life, empowering you to find effective ways to cope with anxiety and become emotionally stronger. When you feel ready, we could also explore at a deeper level where those patterns are coming from, giving yourself permission to go through your feelings and get in touch with your real self, in a safe non judgemental space.

I am an attentive listener, with an attitude of tolerance and respect. This comes from a rich experience of working with people from different cultures, professions, genders and sexual orientations.

I work in a flexible way, offering short and long term therapy, in person and online. In English and also in Italian.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, with several years experience in private practice. I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), BICA (British Infertility Counselling Association) and FIL (Foundation for Infant Loss) Infertility Specialist.

I am committed to continuous professional development and receive regular clinical supervision to ensure that I am providing the best therapeutic support for my clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of counselling I deal with

Other areas of counselling I deal with

In my extra time I volunteer for the Mulberry Centre at West Middlesex Hospital, supporting cancer patients and their carers. I also volunteer one evening per week for an agency providing counselling to people with no income, as I believe that emotional support has to be accessible to everyone when needed.
