About me
I am currently offering online and telephone counselling for £45/hr if required.
From time to time, people can be overwhelmed by expectations made on them by themselves, society, or by the emotional distress caused by problems at home, illness, loss, breakups, or simply by the experience of living.
Counselling is a way in which you can talk to someone, who is not a friend or family member and unburden yourself. Talking to someone in this way, someone who will listen to you in confidence and without judgement, can help you see your problems differently.
My counselling experience is varied and includes working with people who have problems with low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, work stress and coping with mid-life transitions. I have helped people overcome issues such as self harm, bereavement, separation anxiety and existential ("meaning of life") anxiety. I also work with both individuals and couples who are looking for support in their relationships.
My approach is integrative and includes person-centred, psychodynamic and Transactional Analysis methods of working. I offer full one-hour sessions.
My in-person counselling work currently takes place in my home in Harlington, but I offer Zoom or Teams etc. for those living far away.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Registered Member of BACP and work within their ethical framework.
I have an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative counselling from the CPPD counselling school in London.
I have six years experience working in a variety of settings, including schools, an HIV/LGBT charity and in general counselling.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

These fees are for individuals. Couples I charge at £65 per session.
