About me

People from all walks of life can hit really bad times, separation, divorce, unemployment, painful loss of loved ones and serious abuse. Or perhaps the current cost of living crisis is just worsening ongoing struggles with depression and low mood. Such life crises leave the best of us struggling and reeling and often can bring us to a very dark place. Feeling constantly down, depressed or anxious will disrupt your close relationships, work life, well-being and your health. In therapy, I work initially to build a trusting therapeutic partnership allowing you to find a safe space to explore what's going on for you. Through awareness practice (similar to mindfulness) we work holistically, on the range of your current and past responses, your emotions, cognitions, your bodily sense, your social and 'spiritual' needs and patterns of living and relating in the world. Through increasing awareness of the nature and impact of your difficult emotions and their origins, gradually over time, you will move towards identifying choices and ways of being that will promote renewed energy and vitality for life.

A client said to me recently "Working with you has changed fundamental habits and views I have had that have held me back, and I trust you completely: no mean feat! Thank you for your kindness, wisdom and your clarity."

Training, qualifications & experience

I am UK Council of Psychotherapists accredited (UKCP Reg: 2011173486) and I welcome adults, couples, or groups.

Previously for over 30 years, I have been active professionally in supporting the personal well-being and development of individuals and groups, in the UK and many countries in Europe and sometimes beyond. I was first introduced to Gestalt as a therapy and philosophy for human growth and development during my accreditation as a coach in 2007. Since 2014 I have worked in placements as a counsellor and therapist in the NHS and as part of a cabinet of international therapists in Brussels, as well as my private practice. Currently, I work part-time with Age UK Camden counselling team as a group therapy facilitator and in client assessment.
