About me

Availability on Tuesdays and Fridays for new clients. Please note current availability is for remote clients only.

I have tried to use this space to give you some information on myself, my practice and what I offer my clients. However, if you have any questions or would like to have an informal chat on whether counselling is right for you, please get in touch.

Therapy can provide us with a unique experience of having a place where all our thoughts, feelings and experiences are met with respect and acceptance. I offer a warm and confidential space that aims to make you feel listened to and accepted.

Life can be incredibly complicated and having a space to reflect and understand it can be invaluable. I provide personal, honest and empathetic therapy that aims to help people become their most authentic selves.

My practice is based on a foundation of empathy and acceptance. I hope that between myself and my clients, we can create a space that will encourage exploration of ourselves without fear of shame or rejection. I spend time and put a huge amount of effort into establishing trust with my clients, and their safety and wellbeing is my top priority at all times.

For some, coming to therapy can be a very uncomfortable thing to do. For others, it is a relief to have access to a place to share. Either way, my aim will always be to hold space for every aspect of a person’s experience and to treat what is shared with care and respect.

You will be in charge of the process, and in time, may find yourself growing in understanding, confidence and developing a greater sense of control.

My practices uses philosophy from Psychodynamic Therapy, Behavioural Therapies, Humanistic Therapies. I am also often inspired by social and political theories such as body positivity/neutrality and fat acceptance. I aim to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere to all, however, as a Queer person, I am available to sit with the nuances of queerness in a way others may not be.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I hope this has given you some insight into myself and my practice. However, in my opinion it is the relationship that is the most important factor in counselling. If you would like to have an informal chat to see if we would work well together drop me and email and we can set up a call.
