Hanna Grzesik - Counsellor (PGDip, MNCS Accred)
I’m a fully qualified counsellor with over 8 years of experience working in various mental health settings. I offer private counselling for adults in York.
I work with adults who seek to develop healthier coping strategies, improve their self-esteem and learn how to manage their feelings. By creating a safe and supportive space, I aim to support you in your healing process and help you create the resources you need to deal with challenges.
How I work
My core counselling training stems from solution-focused and relational therapy. I have experience working both short and long term with adults, covering a range of issues including general anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, past trauma and bereavement.
In our initial session, we will discuss the things you would like to work on as well as my approach to ascertain if what I offer is what you are looking for. We can arrange a phone call to talk about the sessions.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a degree in Psychology from a university in Poland where I worked as a psychologist and psychotherapist for about 4 years. I completed over 250 h of training in psychotherapy with the Polish Milton Erickson Institute accredited by The Milton H. Erickson Foundation. I moved to York in 2013 and continued my counselling training by completing a PG Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Leeds Beckett University.
I have worked in various settings, including community-based counselling service in Harrogate and trauma specialised service in York.
As a member of the National Counselling Society MNCS (Accred), I work within their Ethical Framework and I am professionally supervised.
