About me
Whether you're looking for guidance through life's challenges, aiming to deepen your self-understanding or enhancing your relationships, counselling provides a safe and supportive space to explore these goals and more. It offers you a journey of personal growth and transformation.
Finding the right therapy and the right counsellor is important, but it can be a daunting task. To find out if we are a good fit, you can read the info below (which briefly describes how I work) or/and contact me for an introductory 15-minute free-of-commitment call.
My approach
I am a relational counsellor trained in humanistic and psychodynamic approaches. I work in an integrative way using a variety of theoretical ideas, methods and tools to help me understand and support you in your therapeutic journey.
I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space where you can explore your feelings, thoughts, struggles and worries, as well as your responses and behaviour in relation to the world around you, and in your relationships.
I believe that you are the expert of your own life. You are a unique individual, and therefore the way you experience life and the solutions you seek are also unique to you. I will walk beside you on this therapeutic journey, aiming to help you deepen your understanding of what you bring to the sessions, gently guiding you through your exploration, and supporting you in reaching your therapeutic goals.
I offer open-ended therapy for individuals and couples. Check below for more information about my approach to my services.
Individual Counselling
In our work together, I will let you lead the way by encouraging you to bring to each session what you consider important for yourself. I will listen with compassion and acceptance and facilitate your exploration.
I will pay attention to how you have built and managed relationships over time, and we will explore your past and childhood experiences. I believe these two aspects strongly inform the present and, therefore give us an understanding of your current struggles.
Our therapeutic relationship will play an important role in the work we do, and we will often reflect on it to deepen our understanding of your patterns and psychological processes.
Couples Counselling
My work as a couples counsellor is informed by various theoretical ideas and techniques. The psychodynamic approach and the Imago model will be predominant in our sessions.
Through our work together, I will help you improve your understanding of each other and your communication. Our work could help you with aspects such as conflict resolution, rebuilding trust, enhancing intimacy and navigating life transitions.
Your relationship will be at the centre of our work. I aim to offer a fair and equal approach to both of you and to support you in the steps you want to take together as a couple.
The first steps in our work together
I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation for individuals and a 20-minute online consultation for couples, with no obligations or commitments attached. This will help us start getting to know each other and we can discuss any concerns or practicalities that could inform our decision to work together.
Following this, if we all agree, I will invite you for an assessment session. This is designed to highlight what brought you to counselling, what goals you might have for the therapeutic process, and to briefly outline aspects of your history and current life. We will discuss a counselling agreement, which includes what I will be able to offer and the terms of my services. At the end of this session, you can take some time to consider your next steps.
Once we agree to work together, I usually contract for six consecutive weekly sessions, at the end of which we’ll have a review to decide how you would like to proceed further.
Last thoughts
Considering and stepping into a therapeutic journey can evoke a variety of emotions, challenges, and thoughts. Reach out to discuss any worries you have and get the clarification you need to help you decide if counselling is what you are looking for, and if we would be a good fit together.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
