About me

Underneath our stories is an inner sanctuary, and the entrance is inside you - Rumi.

When we face a crisis, the future can become blurry, confusing, and scary. Life, as a result, feels complicated and can leave us with anxiety, stress, and depression. Counselling allows us to explore, reflect and make sense of things. Talking to someone not directly involved is helpful and will enable you to view the situation differently.

I am a qualified TA Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. TA is a holistic modality often referred to as integrative psychotherapy because it incorporates elements of other types of modality, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, Humanistic Psychotherapy, integrative psychotherapy, and psychoanalytical psychotherapy.
One word to describe TA is ‘contract therapy’, which shows that therapy work is done based on mutuality between therapist and client and agreed-upon contracts to achieve specific goals.
The agreement describes an approach between client and therapist where the practice and success in therapy are connected to a therapeutic relationship.
I work with adults, teenagers and couples. I offer individual and group online sessions, face2face or by telephone, and provide both long-term and short-term work.
My approach to therapy is empathic, compassionate, authentic, and non-judgemental. I aim to ensure a safe, supportive atmosphere to establish a trusting relationship in which you will feel heard respectfully and without judgement, to foster acceptance and change.

I work with a broad range of clinical presentations, including anxiety (e.g. generalised anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, OCD), trauma/PTSD and depression, as well as supporting people who have experienced social issues such as domestic abuse, sexual abuse/assault, addiction, offending behaviour, anger management and others. The impact of domestic abuse can be devastating, and helping you address the traumatic experiences, understanding your options, rediscover your sense of self and move on with life will be the focus.

I work by concentrating on what is essential to you, focusing on the here and now, through helping you to gain a fresh perspective and understanding yourself and your present situation.

Together, we can uncover the root of the issues and work at a pace that suits.

you. Please email/call me to set up an initial appointment, and I’m more than happy to answer any questions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
