About me

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my profile. There are many reasons people look for help and support. Maybe you are struggling with anxiety and would like to find out why and to explore ways of coping so that your day to day life feels easier. Or have been feeling low and depressed for a while and would like someone to talk to about how you are feeling. Or you are going through a life changing situation and would like some support during this time. You will have your own struggles that have lead you to look for someone to talk to and someone to help you. I am hoping I could be that person.

I can offer you a space filled with warmth, acceptance, empathy and a genuine interest in you, your feelings, and your life. I will accept you just as you are and all your feelings and emotions will be welcome.

I work in a way that means you lead every session. I won’t give you any advice or tell you what to do but I will ask you questions to help your own understanding of why you may be feeling the way you are. And as our working relationship grows, I may gently challenge you at times to help you find answers which will enable you to move forward.

I am a Qualified Counsellor and a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) which is a framework I work to. This will ensure that I am doing the very best for you and keeping both of us safe.

Please email or text me to arrange a short telephone or zoom call where we can have a chat about your reasons for wanting counselling and to see if we feel comfortable working together.

I very much look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
