About me
If you're a thoughtful, sensitive person who values creativity and the arts, online Integrative Arts Psychotherapy and AEDP could be the ideal approach for you.
I use a form of psychotherapy/ counselling that taps into the deeper wisdom held in areas of brain and body that we can't always reach through verbal language or conscious reasoning. (Because let's face it: You're an intelligent person. If your issues could be solved through rationally thinking your way out of them, you'd have got that covered long ago!)
I particularly specialise in treating anxiety and overwhelm in sensitive people. This can include
- emotional problems
- a deep-down feeling that somehow you're 'wrong', 'unworthy' and 'not enough'
- anxiety
- panic attacks
- worry
- stress and overwhelm
- after-effects of trauma
- night-time fears
The skills and exercises I use for treating anxiety are tailored and adapted specifically to fit each person's unique needs. My training and techniques are grounded in recent discoveries in the field of neuroscience. I regularly attend additional trainings in order to keep up to date with the latest relevant scientific discoveries and methods. I'm undertaking extended training in AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) and I integrate this modality into my work with my clients. AEDP is a type of talk therapy which involves helping you with your emotions. You can read about it here: https://emmacameron.com/aedp/what-is-aedp/
I have specific understanding of the needs, strengths and vulnerabilities of the HSP (Highly Sensitive Person).
What is Integrative Arts Psychotherapy?
Integrative Arts Psychotherapy actually isn't about being good at art, so there's no need to worry about your art skills! It's just an effective way of helping you access your inner wisdom, and express your feelings using different parts of your brain.
The art therapy process can lead you to feel calmer, more peaceful, and connected to a positive creative energy inside. Discovering yourself through images and arts materials, in the context of the trusting relationship with the therapist, can lead you to new insights, free you up, and really help you move on with your life.
[Note: Not all of my clients want to use the arts, and that's totally fine.]
What might we use?
- Visualisation & imagination
- Working with dreams
- Sand tray
- Paints
- Felt-tip pens, crayons, pastels, charcoal, pencils
- Poetry
(Note: You will never be made to use an art form that you'd prefer not to use.)
So, if you're a thoughtful, sensitive person who's been feeling overwhelmed with anxiety and stress - and if you simply yearn to understand yourself more deeply and get in touch with your own creative energies again, so you can get on with living life to the full - contact me for a free 15-minute phone consultation.
I currently see all my clients online: video (Zoom), live chat, and email counselling are all options. I have a specialist diploma in online therapy.
Email espcameron@protonmail.com to schedule your free 15-minute phone consultation so we can see whether I might be able to offer what you need.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
