About me

Are you struggling with managing your mood, anxiety or emotions? You might be feeling the impact of past trauma on your life? Do you want to process and make sense of these experiences, learning effective new ways to cope  enabling to move forward in your life.

Here is where I can help.  I am a compassionate, experienced and knowledgeable principle clinical psychologist. I am also an accredited (BABCP) Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapist.  I currently work within the NHS and Privately.

My practice is collaborative and trauma informed, fully involving you in the process. My initial aim being to to create a sense of safety, where you can explore your difficulties openly.

I work with adults with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, OCD, emotion regulation difficulties, PTSD and complex trauma. I use a range of psychological treatment models (e.g. EMDR, CBT, DBT). These are supported by research as being effective and best practices in treating the above issues.

Whether you are struggling with current life circumstances or longer-standing issues, we will think about your goals for therapy and fully tailor the treatment to meet your needs.  We will also regularly review your goals and outcomes to ensure you are making the progress you are seeking in therapy.

I offer a 15 minute free initial consultation by telephone on videocall. Please visit my website for more information, or contact me now to book an initial call.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a highly experienced and compassionate therapist trained in a wide range of evidence based psychological treatment models. This means I can tailor interventions to meet your needs using model specific or more integrated approaches.

I have a doctorate in clinical psychology.   I have carried out additional training in a range of models including a post graduate certificate in CBT, intensive and specialist DBT training and EMDR 3 part training. I am accredited with the BABCP, meeting the highest standards in training and experience in CBT.  I am currently working as a principal psychologist in the NHS alongside private work.

British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

HCPC

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
