About me
Perhaps you are feeling sad or anxious on a regular basis? Maybe this is leading to a sense of overwhelm or isolation? You may be going through the heart breaking grief of losing a loved one? Or there may be things from your past that are burdening you? Whatever your reasons, you have taken an important and courageous step in seeking some counselling for yourself.
I will offer you a secure , compassionate and non-judgemental space to explore your feelings and any aspects of your life where you feel stuck. I believe the counselling relationship to be a collaborative one and I look forward to working alongside you towards your self-awareness and healing.
Training, qualifications & experience
BACP Accredited Diploma in Gestalt Counselling
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I adhere to their Code of Ethics and Practice.
My work is regularly supervised by BACP accredited supervisors and I hold professional insurance.
In addition to my private client work, I am a volunteer therapist for a women's health charity. I also work as a university specialist mentor.

Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
I have worked as a teacher for many years and have an in-depth understanding of issues facing teaching staff, young people and their parents and carers. .
Postgraduate Business Linguists' Diploma
B.A. Honours Degree in Modern Languages - French, Spanish and Portuguese.
If you find it easier to speak in French or Spanish , I am happy to accommodate this in our sessions.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

The first session can be daunting but it is a good opportunity for us meet and for you to share your counselling goals. An initial session is £30. All subsequent sessions are charged at £55.
