About me

If you’ve found your way here, it may be because life feels overwhelming, confusing, or just too heavy right now. Whatever has brought you to this point, I want to offer you a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can pause, breathe, and begin to make sense of things.

As a counsellor, I bring warmth, empathy, and a deep respect for your unique journey. I also gently challenge when it feels helpful—always with the aim of supporting your growth. My work is grounded in the belief that you already hold the resources you need within you, even if they feel out of reach right now. Together, we’ll work to reconnect you with your inner strength and resilience.

I practice integrative therapy, drawing from a range of approaches to meet your individual needs. My work is informed by neuroscience, particularly in understanding how trauma and stress affect the nervous system. I offer practical tools to help calm an overactive system—often at the root of anxiety, chronic worry, and sleep difficulties.

Many clients also find it meaningful to explore “Parts Work,” an approach that recognises we are made up of many inner parts, each with its own voice and story. Working with these parts can bring clarity, compassion, and deep emotional healing.

Above all, my goal is to walk alongside you as you move toward greater ease, connection, and fulfilment in your life.

What to expect in your first session

Our first 50-minute session is a chance for us to meet, explore what’s bringing you to therapy, and see if we feel like the right fit—no obligation.

If we choose to work together, sessions will take place weekly. We’ll begin by focusing on immediate concerns, and, if appropriate, move toward longer-term work for deeper, lasting change.

Getting started

Please call me on 07922 629546 or email at elina.mocane@gmail.com to arrange the first session.  If I am unable to answer your call, I will get back to you as soon as I can.  I look forward to hearing from you!

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained in Transpersonal Integrative psychotherapy, an approach that seeks to integrate Western and Eastern psychologies. It brings together various therapeutic modalities to best suit the unique circumstances of each client and fosters the innate human drive to achieve our full potential.

My area of interest, both personally and professionally, is the human relationship with nature. This has led me to undertake research focusing on the psychological aspects of our sense of connection with nature, and the impact it has on our physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. The findings of this research inform and enrich my work with clients.

My passion is to find simple and practical ways to help clients manage their day-to-day emotional states, as I believe this builds a strong basis for a fulfilling life. It is my hope that through our work together you will experience more peace, vitality and empowerment in your life.

Training and qualifications:

  • Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy, the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education, London
  • M.A. in Transpersonal Counselling & Psychotherapy, University of Northampton
  • I am a registered member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
